Brianna in the Spotlight!

Brianna joined the MC Equestrian team in Feb 2020. Brianna is a hard-working, adventurous, warm and friendly member of the stable team.

What led you to start your job at MC Equestrian?

I have always had a love of horses and I wanted to work outside. I don’t mind physical days and love meeting new people - so it was the perfect job for me!

What does a typical day involve for you?

Currently I am in the stable team, so on a typical day I manage the stables, feeding, medicating and rugging horses, cleaning paddocks and just about everything, from greeting clients, assisting tacking up horses for lessons and assisting vet checks. I basically look after the horse’s well-being from sunrise to sunset and their everyday movements from paddock to stables and into their lessons.

I am currently working on my coach training certificate which I am very excited about!

What do you like best about working at MC Equestrian?

I love being able to work outdoors caring for the horses. I work with a great team and enjoy meeting all the new clients that come to have lessons.

Tell us about your favourite horse experience?

I took a trip to the Margaret River in Western Australia a few years ago with a company called Globe Trotting, they run tailored group horse travel adventures. It was one of the best trips I’ve been on. The horses were ex polo horses so we got to play polo at their local club. It was a fantastic experience. The Margaret River region was beautiful, we rode through the national park trails that were covered with beautiful wildflowers. Days were filled with beach canters and we even took the horses swimming down on the beaches. We camped in glamping tee-pee tent accommodation too, the whole trip was a bucket list adventure I will remember forever.

Tell us how you like to spend your spare time?

Spending time with my 4 beautiful children, and lately I’ve been riding a 16.3 worm blood chestnut called Barney, I’ve been riding him twice a week for colic surgery recovery. His recovery is going really well. I am also studying - so I like to keep pretty busy!

Tell us about your favourite riding trail?

I recently rode the Neverfail Gully Trail in Terry Hills and with the new grading it is a dream to ride. Think my horse got a bit excited with the smooth wide track so we had a fast trip home!

What are you most looking forward to when the Covid-19 lockdown finishes?

I look forward to seeing MC Equestrian welcome back all its riders that have not been able to visit during lockdown. I love watching all the instructors guiding and teaching all the clients and their horse’s new skills in the arena every day. It makes me happy.
