It’s a family shared passion!

At MC Equestrian we have quite a few families where multiple members of the same family all share a passion for riding. This week we introduce you to Warren and his adorable girls Sharon and Anna, who all ride with us in different capacities.

Due to our size, MC Equestrian have the flexibility to be able to cater for all ages and rider abilities, with horses to match any discipline and the option to have weekly lessons, lease a horse or simply just attend school holiday camps. Not to forget our multiple arenas both indoor and out, making us the perfect fit for Warren and his family’s needs.

The families journey

Having always had a love of horses, Warren had ridden on and off in the past back in China and at another riding school when he arrived in Sydney. In Oct 2020 he joined MC Equestrian and had his first lesson with Dee. He then began weekly lessons on Nimbus and Scotty, and 6 months later he started leasing Al.

His elder daughter Sharon, 8 years old, then took an interest and soon after began leasing Laddie. Which then caused a ripple effect and they started their youngest Anna (4 years) riding River. Warren comments proudly that “the girls can now independently canter and trot (respectively) and have made lots of friends in the riding school.

Warren shares that he has “learnt a lot at MC Equestrian Riding School, not only how to keep the horse's rhythm and make the horse supple with a soft seat and hands to keep the contact, I have improved my riding position significantly and I have really learnt a lot about horsemanship in preparation for purchasing my own horse.”

“MCEQ really built my confidence as a rider and I am now jumping 85cm. I love the friendly, community atmosphere of MCEQ and pre-COVID-19, they invited me to attend local competitions giving me the opportunity to compete in multiple disciplines including dressage, show jumping and derby’s - I even won a few ribbons!”

What do you and the family like most about MC Equestrian Riding School?

‘Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful - coaches, staff and other riders at MCEQ. I love that the horses are happy and healthy and looked after very well and most importantly, well-loved! I love MC Equestrian’s organised management system, it is a very efficient booking system and the management respond quickly if you have any questions.”

“I love the professional coaches, although my English is not that strong, they give me lots of visual instructions to help me understand the skills and feelings they are trying to pass on. They are very patient and kind.”

“I love the fact that they offer specialised group lessons and classes like the 'Adult Classical Night and Pole Dancing Night on a Monday. They also offer group jumping lessons for different level riders on set days and the fancy "Vaulting" lessons on the talented Miss Molly!”

Tell us about the recent purchase of your very own horse called G

Warren’s very own horse ‘G’

Dee and Sarah helped me find "G" from their professional network of contacts. We took our time to look for the right horse for me and the buying process was super smooth thanks to Sarah and Dee. We inspected the horse on Sunday, completed a vet check on Wednesday and I picked G on Thursday! It feels like a sweet dream!

All the horsemanship they taught me throughout my lessons and leasing has been fantastic preparation for owning my own horse.
